Marriage Retreat

Things I love about my husband....
He values our marriage.
He's funny.
He's sensitive and genuine.
He believes the gospel.
He works hard and is good at what he does.
He's a great dad.
He's laid back.
He leads our home.
He works out and stays healthy.
He prays for me & KGP.
He listens to me.
He loves God.

One Month

OK, so I know that 4 weeks & 1 month are basically the same thing.... but I love the idea that my friend Sarah has had that she takes a photo each month with a cute little sign. Well, Kendall didn't think quite as highly of my idea this afternoon... so this is what we got. Just goes to show that all photo shoots don't go quite as planned..... there's still quite the trick to getting her eyes open, her content & happy, and half way decent lighting. So here's a real day in the life of Kendall - although she's been so content that it's hardly representative of her.... only if she needs food, fresh diapers, or just to be cuddled by mom or dad.

Aunt & Uncle....

Josh & Heather flew in from CDA, ID last night - we're so happy to have them here to spend a long weekend with us. They're getting their fill of holding Kendall and joking with Kendall's dad. We're blessed with awesome family!

Screaming...

As cute and peaceful as Miss Kendall appears here, we have definitely seen a more spunky side of her the past few days. I've been struggling a little bit with feeding and figuring things out, and she's not always a real big help in communicating what's really going on inside her head & body! So we've needed Dad to run interference a few times, we've needed to take a few naps (both mom & daughter), and then we've needed some good cuddle time to make up for the challenging times of figuring out if she's hungry or just wanting to be held (usually we think it's the latter). But amidst the challenges, we're enjoying seeing more of her expressive side. Let's just keep it to daylight hours now. We're visiting a lactation consultant in the morning to get a professional opinion on a few things, and I'm confident she'll be helpful in a bunch of ways. In the meantime, we're hanging out at home while Dad's at the gym getting even more buff than he already is.

Cousins

Kendall's cousin Evalyn came to visit us recently.... Evalyn was born August 18 so she has a few months on K -- it was great to have my sister Allison here for a few days and we look forward to these two little girls growing up together. I have a fond relationship with my closet cousin in age, Deanna, who is 3 months younger than me. Especially as kids, we had fun visiting each other and going back and forth between MN & NE to see each other and our families.
